“This session encourages contributions from diverse disciplines, including climate change’s impact on nutrient processing, engineered and nature-based nutrient control method assessments, stakeholder engagement, and implementation of conservation strategies at all spatial and temporal scales in any geographical setting.”

Anthropogenic pressures and changing climate are profoundly impacting nutrient cycling, causing significant shifts in nutrient distribution across terrestrial, atmospheric, aquatic, and coastal systems. These changes have cascading effects, influencing terrestrial chemical loading, gaseous emissions, riverine transport, and the formation of coastal nutrient plumes.

The Nutrient Cycling in the Anthropocene American Geophysical Union 2024 Fall Meeting session invites researchers who are actively investigating nutrient loading and flux within these systems, as well as those studying the influence of both anthropogenic and natural factors on nutrient transport and their responses to climate change. We encourage contributions from diverse disciplines, including the impact of climate change on nutrient processing, assessments of engineered and nature-based nutrient control methods, stakeholder engagement, and the implementation of conservation strategies at various spatial and temporal scales in any geographical setting.

This session aims to foster a comprehensive understanding of nutrient cycling processes and promote interdisciplinary collaborations to develop effective conservation and management strategies. Join us at AGU24 to share your innovative research and insights on nutrient cycling.

July 31, 2024 is the deadline to propose an abstract for inclusion in this session.
